Choose your first-Stand route
| Route | What qualifies | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Combat | Defeat by another fighter in a genuine battle | A 1-in-10 awakening chance per eligible defeat |
| Stand Arrow | Hold the Arrow until compatibility reaches 100% | A guaranteed awakening at that threshold |
Neither route lets you select a particular Stand. The encyclopedia says the result is random and follows the game’s rarity distribution. It does not give a full rarity table in the material we reviewed.
Route 1: a genuine combat defeat
- Take part in a real fight with another fighter.
- If that fighter defeats you, the encyclopedia gives a 1-in-10 chance of awakening your first Stand.
- Respect the limit: the page says you receive one chance per minute.
This is a chance, not a promise that your tenth defeat unlocks a Stand. The cited page does not establish how many attempts any particular player will need.
Defeats that do not count
- Resetting your character.
- Falling to your death.
- Being lightly hit while already at 1 health, instead of taking part in a genuine battle.
If you have been resetting or arranging a last-health tap, the encyclopedia explicitly excludes those shortcuts. Check that the defeat qualifies before treating a missing awakening as a bug.
Route 2: reach 100% Arrow compatibility
The second route is to hold a Stand Arrow until its compatibility reaches 100%. The encyclopedia states that awakening is certain at that point.
- Read the current in-game Stand Arrow encyclopedia entry; the first-Stand page directs players there for the item’s rules.
- Obtain and hold the Arrow according to that entry.
- Use the compatibility indicator as the requirement: the supported threshold is 100%.
The tutorial also describes an Arrow event with a purple outline. We could not verify a fixed spawn location, schedule, or required holding duration. A claim such as “wait exactly five minutes” is not supported by the sources on this page.
Already have a Stand? Rerolling is a separate step
First awakening and replacing an existing Stand are different mechanics. The encyclopedia says that after you have a Stand, changing it costs 100 Rerolls. It also says that you will not roll the same Stand you currently have.
That rule does not guarantee a specific replacement or a rarer Stand. Check the live menu and current encyclopedia before spending your balance.
If you have a code to redeem, our Morioh High code-redemption guide explains the menu and once-per-account restriction. We have not verified that any current code awards Rerolls.
If your first Stand has not awakened
- Using combat? Confirm a genuine defeat by another fighter, not a reset, fall or 1-health tap.
- Trying again immediately? The encyclopedia limits awakening chances to one per minute.
- Using an Arrow? The documented threshold is 100% compatibility; merely holding one is not the completed requirement.
- Already have a Stand? Check the replacement rule rather than the first-awakening routes.
- The live rules differ? Follow the current game encyclopedia; this page records the cited 11 October material.
